Gen Bajwa’s stance to uphold Constitution amid political turmoil hailed

Islamabad, April 12 : Pakistan’s top military brass on Tuesday endorsed the stance taken by General Qamar Javed Bajwa to uphold the country’s constitution in them midst of the political turmoil that the country had to undergo leading up to the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan and his ouster from office, Express Tribune reported. The military brass took notice of the recent propaganda campaign unleashed by some quarters to malign the Pakistan Army and create division between the institution and Pakistani society, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement. The statement comes after the 79th Formation Commanders’ Conference was held at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, presided over the conference which was attended by corps commanders, principal staff officers and all formation commanders of the Pakistan Army. The forum expressed its confidence in General Bajwa’s leadership and his well-considered stance to uphold the constitution and rule of law, at all costs, according to the ISPR. The statement was made a day after the joint opposition ousted former premier Imran Khan through a no-confidence motion in the National Assembly.
