Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Destroys Narcotics Worth ₹18.88 Crores in Major Operation

Noida, June 23: Under the guidance of Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, a significant operation against drug trafficking was conducted in Gautam Buddh Nagar on Tuesday. The police carried out the destruction of narcotics valued at crores of rupees as part of ‘Operation Dahan’.

According to police officials, narcotics seized under various cases were destroyed after obtaining court permission, in compliance with the NDPS Act. The destruction process was carried out according to established regulations and legal provisions.

In total, 2,918.67 kilograms of cannabis, 18.805 kilograms of hashish, 30.4 kilograms of opium, 120 grams of MDMA, 1.77 kilograms of drug pills, and 1.12 kilograms of heroin were destroyed during Operation Dahan.

The estimated market value of these narcotics in the international market is approximately ₹18,88,50,750.

The police commissionerate stated that a special committee was formed to ensure effective control over illegal drug trafficking and the safe destruction of seized narcotics. The entire process was conducted transparently and legally under the committee’s supervision.

Police officials emphasized that this destruction of narcotics is not merely a legal action but also a crucial step towards protecting society from drug addiction. It aims to help keep youth away from substance abuse and raise awareness in the community. Furthermore, it sends a clear message to criminals involved in drug trafficking that Gautam Buddh Nagar Police are consistently taking strict action against them.

The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police have also appealed to the public to actively participate in this social campaign against drugs. They urged anyone with information about drug trafficking, sales, or any suspicious activities to report it immediately to the local police station or dial 112.
