Gaurav Vallabh Criticises Rahul Gandhi Over SIR and EVM Issues

New Delhi: BJP leader Gaurav Vallabh has criticised Rahul Gandhi for raising the issues of SIR and EVMs, saying these are attempts to hide his failures. Speaking in response to statements made by former Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed against Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha, Vallabh questioned why voters would not consider Rahul Gandhi harmful to the Congress if even its former leaders view him that way.

In an interview from New Delhi, Vallabh said, “Rahul Gandhi raises the SIR and EVM issues only to conceal his shortcomings. Whether it is Shakeel Ahmed or Congress MP Shashi Tharoor speaking against Rahul Gandhi, the reality is that Congress despises merit. The party prefers leaders without organisational, electoral, or intellectual experience. Congress has now become a platform for a few dynasty members.”

Regarding Shashi Tharoor’s remarks on Operation Sindoor, Vallabh stated that while they agree with Tharoor’s comments on the operation, Congress leaders should explain why they question the courage and valour of the Indian Army. He added, “Congress leaders speak the same language in India that their counterparts use in Pakistan’s Islamabad just hours before. Tharoor should convey these concerns within his party.”

On the resignation of Naseemuddin Siddiqui, Vallabh mocked, saying, “If he knew poetry well, he might not have had to leave Congress. He should explain to Congress leaders why this happened to him.”

Discussing the Congress presidential election, Vallabh claimed, “The contest was not between Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor but between Rahul Gandhi and Tharoor. Kharge was merely a front. Rahul Gandhi and a close group influenced the decision, inspired by the Muslim League’s ideology.” He further alleged that during Kharge’s tenure as party president, he secured ministerial posts for his son, parliamentary seats for his son-in-law, and a Rajya Sabha seat for a close aide. Vallabh accused the Gandhi family of sidelining Kharge repeatedly and deciding party matters themselves.

Vallabh also remarked that initially, many party workers supported Shashi Tharoor, but due to the Gandhi family’s interference, Kharge won the election.
