Garud Shakti 2026: India and Indonesias Special Forces Showcase Skills in Joint Military Exercise

India and Indonesias special forces demonstrate combat skills and coordination during the Garud Shakti 2026 military exercise in challenging jungle terrain.

New Delhi, November 4 (Daily Kiran) : India and Indonesia’s special forces have put their combat capabilities on display in a challenging jungle environment as part of the ongoing joint military exercise, Garud Shakti 2026. Taking place in New Delhi, this exercise has reached its ninth day, where commandos from both nations engaged in tactical drills simulating encounters with enemy forces.

In a show of unity, parachute commandos from both armies executed free-fall jumps, enhancing their coordination during aerial operations and building trust in each other’s equipment. The final verification phase, lasting 48 hours, saw both Indian and Indonesian special forces participating in crucial activities, including providing immediate medical assistance to injured soldiers on the battlefield.

Combat tracking exercises were also conducted to detect enemy movements and practice immediate response actions upon contact. These drills were carried out in the dense and challenging terrain of the jungle, aiming to bolster mutual confidence in each other’s equipment, combat strategies, and operational procedures.

Through this exercise, both armies demonstrated improved coordination during aerial missions. Garud Shakti 2026 is laying the groundwork for better collaboration in future advanced aerial and special military operations. It offers both nations an opportunity to strengthen their ability to work together and build mutual trust.

Notably, the special forces of India and Indonesia are currently testing their combat skills in the remote and dense forests of East Java. The ongoing joint military exercise features over 48 hours of specialized training, where soldiers are applying military skills and training learned over the past week in real-world scenarios. During this final phase, Indian and Indonesian special forces are conducting challenging operations together.

Skills being tested include marksmanship, mountain warfare tactics, helicopter insertions, patrolling, and enemy activity detection. Throughout the exercise, participants are facing conditions akin to real combat, working in tandem despite the dense jungles and difficult geographical features. Their physical endurance, stamina, strategic coordination, and ability to make quick decisions under pressure are also being evaluated.
