New Delhi, March 28 : The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till noon on Monday amid various notices given by Opposition members seeking suspension of business to discuss rising fuel prices and other issues being raised by the central trade ons. Chairman Venkaiah Naidu did not admit the notices and wanted to proceed with Zero Hour. He said that the notices are not admitted and adjourned the House even before Opposition protests could gather momentum. “I have gone through the notices, I have decided not to admit them. Members can raise it during the… Please sit down, adjourning the House to meet at 12 O’ clock,” Naidu said. The notices to suspend the business and discuss increasing prices of petroleum products and other essential commodities were submitted by AITC MP Derek O’Brien, BSP’s Ashok Siddharth, CPI’s Binoy Viswam, CPM’s Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharyya and Dr V Sivdasan and DMK’s Tiruchi Siva and M. Shanmugam. In the ongoing session of Rajya Sabha, Chairman Naidu has maintained that the issue of rising petroleum prices should not be discussed under rule 267.
