Four Children Drown While Bathing in Udaipur’s Anicut; Three Belonged to the Same Family

Udaipur, October 25 (Daily Kiran) — In a heart-wrenching incident, four children, including three from the same family, drowned while bathing in an anicut in the Dabok police station area of Udaipur on Saturday. The tragedy occurred in Laxmanpura village near Bhamrasia Ghaati Kakranada, when the children went to bathe and slipped into deep water.

According to initial reports, one of the children accidentally drifted into deeper water, and in an attempt to rescue him, the other three also drowned. The incident has left the local community in shock, and a large number of people gathered at the site as news spread.

Police officials said the Civil Defence team reached the spot immediately after receiving the information. After nearly an hour of efforts, all four bodies were recovered and later shifted to the Dabok Hospital mortuary for postmortem.

Dabok SHO Hukam Singh said that the children’s clothes were found lying near the anicut. A local villager first noticed the bodies floating in the water and alerted the authorities, after which a rescue operation was launched.

The deceased have been identified as:

  • Manohar (6), son of Raju Kalbeliya

  • Komal (8), daughter of Raju Kalbeliya

  • Payal (10), daughter of Raju Kalbeliya

  • Suman (16), daughter of Keshu Kalbeliya

All four were residents of the same locality. Their bodies will be handed over to the family after postmortem.
