New Delhi, August 4 (H.S.) – Veteran politician and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren passed away on Monday morning at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi. He was 81 years old and had been battling a kidney-related illness for the past month.

According to an official statement released by the hospital, Shibu Soren was declared dead at 8:56 AM today. He had been on life support for the past month following a stroke he suffered about six weeks ago. His prolonged illness and complications related to kidney disease ultimately led to his demise.
Shibu Soren, a towering figure in Jharkhand politics and a key tribal leader, had been undergoing treatment at the hospital and remained critical over the past several weeks.
His son and current Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren was present in Delhi during his father’s final moments. Confirming the news on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Hemant Soren wrote,
“Adarniya Dishom Guruji has left us all. Today, I feel completely hollow….”
