Chennai, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : The Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai held a remarkable passing out parade on September 5, 2026. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Krishna Swaminathan was the chief guest, overseeing the ceremony where officer cadets completed their rigorous pre-commission training. These cadets are set to be commissioned as lieutenants in the Indian Army.
Commodore Nambiath Sudip, Deputy Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, expressed his pride at the event. He stated, “This is a joyous moment for all of us. Leading the NCC Directorate, it brings me immense happiness to witness the passing out of OTA cadets. We train cadets not only to become future citizens but also to join the armed forces, particularly the Army, Navy, and Air Force.”
He highlighted that five cadets graduated today, emphasizing the success of their training and the importance of entrusting them with the nation’s future. “I congratulate the passing out core and wish them well. They are the future of our armed forces and our nation. I am confident that our country is safe in their hands. The NCC is evolving; we are advancing in modern technologies, providing training related to drones, cyber capabilities, and other aspirations,” he added.
Retired Colonel CSD Swami remarked, “Today’s passing out parade at the OTA was spectacular. This institution trains dedicated youth who serve the nation and graduate as commissioned officers. I stood here as a cadet 32 years ago, completed my military service, and now I am retired. Watching this parade today is truly an exhilarating experience.”
Lieutenant Anisha shared her pride, stating, “This is a proud moment for my parents and me. We have worked hard for this day. Seeing everyone here as it finally concludes feels wonderful. My parents are beaming with pride, and it’s an incredible feeling to be acknowledged like this.”
Lieutenant M Akshita expressed her emotions, saying, “I feel immense pride today. My parents were here during my training, and our efforts have finally paid off. We are now set to serve the nation with greater responsibility. Being part of this team is an honor. I was an NCC cadet, and while the journey was challenging, it has been rewarding. I am part of the artillery corps, and for those aspiring to join the armed forces, the path may be tough, but once you are in, you become part of the army.”
