Five JPC ultras nabbed with arms in Hazaribagh

Hazaribagh, April 8 : In a joint operation conducted by the district police and CRPF’s 22nd battalion five ultras belonging to the JPC including their sub zonal commander have been nabbed with arms. Briefing the press on Friday Hazaribagh SP Manoj Ratan Chouthe said that the among the arrested included sub zonal commander Harendra Ganjhu alias Netaji, area commander Ishwar Dayal Mahto, Bhagirath Mahto, Baleshwar Ram and Ramkumar Mahto. From the arrested three rifles, 30 live cartridges, 7.50 kilograms of liquid gelatin, 2 detonators, pamphlets and a four wheeler have been recovered. The SP said that the arrested had tried to create panic by opening firing at a coal company in Keredari Police Station area. He said a tip off had been received that the group of JPC ultras had gathered in Lajidag forest under Keredari Police Station area after which a joint team of district police and CRPF conducted raids and nabbed the ultras. He said that among the arrested Bhagirath Mahto had earlier worked for the CPI Maoists and had also served 10 years in prison. After coming out of jail he was again working to strengthen the JPC. Further among the arrested Bhagirath Mahto and Ishwar Dayal Mahto are father and son. AK KK
