Patna, 17 August (Kiran News). Five children lost their lives due to drowning while bathing in Khangaradiha village under Katra block of Muzaffarpur district, Bihar, on Sunday. Police have taken possession of the bodies and sent them for post-mortem.

According to police, the incident took place near the Goradhuwa bridge in a pond (open area) on the border of Khanguradiha and Bandhpura panchayats under Katra block. Five children from Khanguradiha village drowned during bathing. The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Anas (15), son of Mohammad Shahzad; Mohammad Hidayatullah (14), son of Mohammad Reyaz; Mohammad Hamza Ali (12), son of Kallu alias Mustafa; Mohammad Rahman (12), son of Mohammad Aftab; and Mohammad Abbu Taleem (12), son of Nargis Praveen.
Police stated that all the children got trapped in a pit while bathing and then drowned. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH). This major tragedy has created an atmosphere of mourning among the bereaved families as well as the entire village community.
