Fire Erupts on Train in Jaisalmer, Passengers Safe

Jaisalmer, February 8: A fire broke out on a moving train in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, on Sunday, causing panic among passengers. Officials reported that there were no casualties, and the fire has been extinguished.

The incident occurred beneath a coach of the Swarn Nagari Express, which was traveling from Delhi to Jaisalmer. It took place near the Jetha Chandan railway station.

An official stated that as soon as the locomotive pilot sensed danger, he wisely stopped the train at a safe location, preventing a major disaster. Once the train halted, railway staff promptly began extinguishing the fire. Utilizing fire extinguishers and other available resources, they managed to control the blaze in a short time. Passengers experienced some anxiety during the incident.

Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported. After the fire was put out, the train resumed its journey to Jaisalmer. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and further details are awaited.

This incident follows a fire that occurred in a coach of the Sabarmati Express at the Pokhran railway station on January 14, just before the train’s departure. Smoke was observed coming from one of its coaches while it was still on the platform.

Railway staff and security personnel present at the station acted quickly upon receiving the fire alert. After considerable effort, they managed to extinguish the fire using firefighting equipment.

Once the fire was extinguished, railway officials conducted a thorough inspection of the affected coach. Following an initial safety check, the train was allowed to continue to its destination. There have been no reports of injuries or property damage from this incident.
