FIR Filed Against Three for Praying at Malad Railway Station

Mumbai, March 15: The railway police have filed an FIR against three individuals for allegedly praying at Malad Railway Station in Mumbai. The case was registered after a video of the incident went viral, sparking significant public outrage. Following the video’s release, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya demanded strict action regarding the matter.

According to police, an investigation was initiated based on the viral video. After a complaint from the station master, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP) jointly took action and registered a case against the accused. The individuals named in the FIR include Mushtaq Babu Lone (35), Soheb Sadakat Shah (25), and Bismillah Deen Ansari (43), all of whom work in the Malad area. Additionally, some unidentified individuals have also been implicated in the case.

Police stated that such activities within the railway premises violate regulations and could disrupt passenger movement. Therefore, action was taken under Section 147 of the Railway Act. The GRP also registered a case under Section 168 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The incident gained further attention when the video spread rapidly on social media. In response, Kirit Somaiya filed a written complaint, urging action against those involved. He emphasized that the railway station is a public space and such activities are against the rules.

Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and they are examining the viral video. If further involvement of other individuals is discovered, legal action will be taken against them as well. The railway police have appealed to passengers to adhere to regulations within the station premises to maintain order and safety.

Somaiya remarked that praying in railway premises or public places is against the rules and that those involved should face consequences. He also alleged that there is an ongoing Islamization of Mumbai and claimed that illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya individuals are active in various ways throughout the city, urging the government to take strict measures.
