Jaunpur, September 25 (Udaipur Kiran News): A local court’s order has led to the registration of a fraud case against Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Mumbai’s chairman and director, along with Star Motors, Jaunpur, over alleged cheating in a vehicle booking.
According to the complaint, Rajman Yadav, an advocate and resident of Mokalpur village under Sarai Khwaja police station, had booked a Mahindra Thar Rox on October 3, 2024, at Star Motors, Polytechnic Chauraha, Jaunpur. He deposited ₹21,000 online as the booking amount. The dealership had assured delivery of the vehicle by March 2024.
However, before the delivery date, his booking was canceled without consent. An amount of ₹18,900 was refunded, but ₹2,100 was deducted. When Yadav approached the dealership for clarification, no explanation was provided, nor was the deducted amount returned.
The complainant alleged that the agency was involved in a larger malpractice, where earlier bookings were canceled to favor new customers who paid a higher amount for immediate delivery. He claimed that many buyers have been victims of this practice.
On Yadav’s plea, the Civil Court, Jaunpur, took cognizance of the matter and directed the police to register a case. Following the order, on September 23, 2025, an FIR was filed at Line Bazar police station against Star Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra’s chairman, its director, and one unidentified person under various IPC sections related to cheating, fraud, and breach of trust.
Station House Officer Satish Kumar Singh confirmed that the case was registered on the court’s directive and that an investigation has begun. He assured that further action will be taken soon.
