Mumbai, May 8: The Mumbai police have registered an FIR against Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly’s husband, Austrian national Peter Haag, following allegations of cruelty, harassment, criminal threats, and physical abuse. The FIR was filed based on a complaint lodged by the actress, leading to criminal proceedings under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 2023.
According to officials, the FIR addresses complaints of cruelty, harm, threats, and persistent harassment. This case is also linked to ongoing actions under the Domestic Violence Act, 2005. The Mumbai police have issued a Lookout Circular (LOC) against Peter Haag.
Sources indicate that this measure was taken due to Haag’s lack of cooperation with the investigation. Typically, LOCs are issued when authorities believe that a suspect may evade questioning or flee the country during an investigation.
Police officials state that the investigation is ongoing, and further actions will depend on the evidence and conclusions gathered during the inquiry. So far, neither Peter Haag nor his legal representatives have released any public statements regarding the allegations. The Mumbai police are currently collecting relevant information and evidence related to the complaint.
This case has once again highlighted discussions surrounding domestic violence, legal protections for women, and the increasing application of new provisions under the Indian Penal Code, 2023.
Celina Jaitly married Austrian entrepreneur and hotelier Peter Haag in 2010, and they welcomed twin sons in 2012. In 2017, she gave birth to another set of twins, but one tragically passed away due to heart disease. In November 2025, Celina filed a case against Peter under the Domestic Violence Act, alleging ongoing domestic abuse.
