Lucknow, May 14: The final rites of Prateek Yadav, son of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav, will take place at Bhainsakund in Lucknow on Thursday morning around 11 AM.
Prior to the ceremony, Prateek Yadav’s mortal remains have been placed at his residence on Vikramaditya Marg in Lucknow for last respects.
Prateek Yadav, aged 38, passed away on Wednesday morning after a prolonged illness. His wife, Aparna Yadav, shared details regarding the funeral on social media platform X late Wednesday night.
Aparna Yadav wrote, “With profound sadness, we inform you that the beloved son of the late former Chief Minister and Padma Vibhushan awardee Mulayam Singh Yadav, Prateek Yadav, will be cremated tomorrow at 11 AM at Baikunth Dham (Bhainsakund). Your dignified presence during this sorrowful time is highly requested.”
According to the post-mortem report, Prateek Yadav’s death was caused by sudden cardiac arrest due to massive pulmonary thromboembolism. This life-threatening condition occurs when a blood clot from the legs or pelvis travels to the upper body, ultimately blocking the pulmonary artery. This blockage led to cardiopulmonary collapse, resulting in Prateek’s untimely demise.
The report also indicates that thromboembolic materials related to the heart and lungs have been preserved for histopathological examination, while the viscera has been secured for chemical analysis and handed over to the relevant police authorities.
Dr. G.P. Gupta, Director of the Civil Hospital, stated that a medical team was dispatched to Prateek Yadav’s residence around 5 AM after reports of his deteriorating health. He was subsequently brought to the hospital, where he was declared dead at approximately 5:55 AM.
The post-mortem report revealed a total of six injury marks on Prateek Yadav’s body. Severe internal injuries and signs of bruising were found on the right side of the chest, right arm, right forearm, right elbow, and left wrist.
The first injury measured 14×7 centimeters and was located on the front of the chest, with a red-brown center and green-yellow edges. The second injury, measuring 19×12 centimeters, was found on the back of the right hand. The third injury measured 24×8 centimeters and was located on the right forearm.
The fourth injury was 6×4 centimeters in size and was found on the right forearm, while the fifth injury was on the right elbow and the sixth on the left wrist. The presence of bruising beneath these injuries confirmed initial concerns.
Doctors clarified that all injuries found on Prateek Yadav’s body were sustained prior to death. The report indicates that the first three injuries were approximately 5 to 7 days old, while the fourth, fifth, and sixth injuries were about one day old.
