Banda : Tired of being tormented by their father, who was out on parole, two sisters allegedly ingested poison here, killing one, according to police on Tuesday.
The event occurred in Parhri village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Baberu police station. According to Laxmi Niwas Mishra, Additional Superintendent of Police, two sisters drank poison late Sunday night. Priyanka (21) died on Monday after being transported to Banda Medical College for treatment. Sapna, his younger sister, is getting treatment, he added.
Rekha Devi, the girls’ mother, filed a complaint against her husband Malkhan Singh, brother-in-law Suresh and Rajesh, and a case of abetting suicide was filed against them, Mishra said, adding that the father was detained.
According to the complaint, the three frequently assaulted her and her daughters, threatened them with a countrymade pistol, and did not allow them to cook meals in the house. He stated that the accused were sentenced to life in prison in a double murder case 16 years ago and had returned home on parole six months ago.
