Udaipur : A 50-year old man paid with his life for advising a youth not to tease and harass his daughter. Chatra son of Ramji Meena was stabbed multiple times past midnight while he was sleeping in the courtyard of his house in Jamuda village under Semari police station limits of Udaipur district. He was declared dead in the hospital. ” The body has been given to the family after autopsy, we have registered a murder case against five persons including the prime accused Someshwar and his aide Naveen who are absconding. An intense search has been launched and teams have been sent to find them” SHO Shyam Singh told Udaipur Kiran.
The deceased’s son Lalit told the police that a youth named Someshwar son of Punjilal, a resident of Aplana village in Dungarpur had been harassing his sister, a ninth grader, for some time. Someshwar who lived in Dungarpur, often visited Jamuda as his sister and paternal aunt were married here. He happened to meet the teenager during one of his visits and started following and teasing her. The girl complained this to her family. Chatra and Lalit confronted Someshwar and asked him to stay away from the girl but the latter paid no heed to their advice.
Lately, Lalit and Someshwar had a duel over this issue. To avenge the humiliation, Someshwar along with his aides Naveen and others went on motorcycles to Chatra’s house past midnight and stabbed the sleeping man multiple times. Hearing his cries, Lalit and others rushed out and saw Chatra in a pool of blood while the accused persons fled from the spot. Chatra was taken to the hospital were he was declared dead.
