Farmers will be exposed to modern farming during PM’s visit : Jitendra

Jammu, April 5 : Farmers will be exposed to the modern techniques of farming along with the use of drones in the farming sector during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Palli Panchayat in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on April 24 to mark Panchayati Raj Day. Along with the property card, 340 houses in Palli village will also get the gift of solar energy, he said. The Ministry of Science and Technology, headed by Prime Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, is all set to create a world record for lighting the Palli Panchayat with solar energy within 20 days. However, a target of April 22 has been set and the campaign is being monitored by the on MoS Dr Jitendra Singh. “Panchayat Palli will become the first village in Jammu and Kashmir to be fully illuminated with solar energy before the Prime Minister’s visit,” said Dr Singh on Tuesday. He said that in Palli village, the drive to install 630 KV transfer for the generation of 500 KW energy is in progress. The team of Central Electronics Limited, which arrived from Delhi, is in action mode to achieve the target, said Dr Singh adding, “the men are on job 24×7 to convert it into the reality.” The Public Relations Officer(PRO) of Dr Jitendra Singh, Sanjeev Sharma also visited the Palli village and inquired about the ongoing work of setting up a solar power plant. “The team from our ministry visited the village Palli and inspected the work underway and supervised by the team of Central Electronics Limited,” said Dr Singh. He said that the visit of the Prime Minister would be of great benefit. Seven ministries who played an important role in rural development are currently working together on this project. Dr Singh said that during the PM’s visit to Palli village, farmers would be made aware about innovations, new experiments in the agriculture sector for modern farming. In such a situation, he said that the farmers will be made aware of how modern techniques can be used in irrigation, pesticide and nutrients utilisation through drones. “Moreover, other modern methods of agriculture will also be displayed,” Dr Singh said, adding that like village Palli, action will be taken to take advantage of new technology in other villages and work is also being done to make broadband available in every panchayat.
