Bhopal, May 20: The family of Twisha Sharma met with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday, demanding a thorough investigation into her alleged suicide.
During the meeting at the state secretariat in Bhopal, the family expressed concerns over the circumstances surrounding the death of 24-year-old Twisha, which occurred earlier this month at her in-laws’ residence.
Chief Minister Yadav assured the family that the state government would provide full cooperation in the investigation. He also stated that the Madhya Pradesh government would write to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to request an inquiry into the case.
Additionally, the Chief Minister promised to arrange transportation for Twisha Sharma’s body to Delhi.
Twisha’s parents reside in Gaur City-2 township in Greater Noida. She was found dead at her in-laws’ home on the night of May 12.
According to police reports, she was allegedly discovered hanging from a gymnastics ring rope on the roof of the house around 10:26 PM on May 12. A post-mortem was conducted on May 13 at the Forensic Medicine and Toxicology Department of AIIMS Bhopal.
The autopsy report indicated that the cause of death was hanging by rope. Doctors noted two distinct red rope marks around the upper third of her neck, consistent with hanging.
The report also mentioned multiple superficial injuries on various parts of her body, including scratches on the left side of her neck, and injuries on her left upper arm, left wrist, right wrist, and right ring finger, as well as a bruise on the left frontal area beneath the skull.
Symptoms associated with asphyxiation were also observed, including facial congestion, cyanosis of the ears and nails, and minor hemorrhaging in the right eye.
During the internal examination, two small bruises were found beneath the rope marks. Police noted the presence of Tardieu spots in the lungs, which are typically associated with asphyxiation, along with blood accumulation in the brain, lungs, and abdominal lining.
