Melbourne, March 20 : Family, former teammates and international stars bid adieu to Australian great Shane Warne at a small private funeral in Melbourne on Sunday. On March 4, at the age of 52, Warne tragically died from a heart attack at a villa on the island of Ko Samui in Thailand. While the Australian will be given a full public service at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on March 30, his nearest and dearest friends and family paid their respect at the private event. Among the attendees were former England captain Michael Vaughan, and Australian stars Glenn McGrath, Merv Hughes, Ian Healy and Mark Waugh. Former Australia Test captains Allan Border, Mark Taylor and Michael Clarke also attended the Victorian’s private service. Warne famously claimed his 700th Test wicket at the MCG on the Boxing Day in 2006 and finished his career with 56 Test wickets at the iconic venue.
