Families in Jammu Embrace Traditional Cooking Following PM Modis Call

Jammu, May 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent appeal is making a significant impact in the Ghansoo area, located along the India-Pakistan international border. Approximately 40 families in the village have pledged to reduce their use of LPG gas and oil starting today. As part of this initiative, the villagers have begun utilizing traditional cooking methods.

Residents have stated that no one in the village will use LPG gas, and they are committed to heeding Prime Minister Modi’s request.

In an exclusive conversation with a news agency, village women shared that after hearing the Prime Minister’s appeal, they discussed it among themselves and collectively decided to follow through as a community. Currently, 40 families have joined this campaign, with hopes that more will participate in the coming days. They immediately implemented the appeal upon hearing it.

The women reported that they have started cooking using traditional clay stoves and cow dung cakes, along with firewood. They recalled that during the COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Modi urged citizens to stay indoors and follow all guidelines, which the entire nation adhered to.

Villagers noted that during “Operation Sindoor,” when the Prime Minister called on citizens to stand firmly against Pakistan in service of the nation, they supported Indian soldiers while residing in their village. Now, once again, amid global challenges, Prime Minister Modi has urged citizens to reduce their use of gold, limit foreign goods, avoid international travel, and cut down on oil consumption in their diets for at least a year.

Following this, the villagers have resolved to abandon these habits and comply with the Prime Minister’s appeal. They also urged the people of the country to stand with Prime Minister Modi during these challenging times. Residents living along the India-Pakistan international border expressed that just as they are participating in this campaign, citizens across the nation should also join this movement.
