Jaipur, October 18 (Daily Kiran): In a major breakthrough against organized crime, Govindgarh Police in Alwar district has busted a gang that posed as police officers to kidnap people and extort ransom. Two key accused have been arrested in connection with the case.
According to Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary, the operation was carried out under the supervision of Additional SP (Rural) Dr. Priyanka, Circle Officer Kailash Jindal, and Station House Officer Banne Singh.
The case was registered following a complaint by Sajid, a resident of Dhandholi, who reported that on June 28, four to five men arrived at his e-Mitra shop in a vehicle fitted with a red beacon light, claiming to be from the Haryana Police. The suspects kidnapped him and also looted cash, a mobile phone, and a computer from his shop.
The victim’s family later paid a ransom of ₹4 lakh to two suspects — Asloop alias Kala of Dhandholi and Sajid alias Kala of Husainpur — after which the victim was released.
With the help of technical surveillance and intelligence inputs, the Govindgarh Police arrested two accused — Sajid alias Kala Mev (32), son of Innas Khan, resident of Husainpur, Police Station Sikri, District Deeg, and Nirju Gurjar (34), son of Vasudev, resident of Kanwada, Police Station Kaman, District Deeg.
Police said efforts are underway to trace other members of the gang and recover more details about similar incidents that may have occurred in the region.
The operation team included ASI Heeru Lal, Constables Dhirendra Singh, Shrinath, Brijesh Kumar, Rajveer, and Mohammad Sharif.
