Noida, February 11: A joint team from the Cyber Crime Police and Sector 126 Police in Noida has successfully dismantled a fake call center that was defrauding individuals under the pretense of providing jobs in cruise ship companies. Four suspects were apprehended during the operation.
During the raid, authorities seized a significant amount of electronic equipment, counterfeit documents, and bank-related papers.
According to police reports, the operation took place on February 11, based on manual intelligence and confidential information. The raid targeted an office located in Sector 132, where the suspects were identified as Rahul from Jalaun, Prashant from Aligarh, Vishal Sharma from Gautam Buddh Nagar, and Saif Warish from Kanpur.
The suspects, aged between 20 and 25, were found to be operating a fraudulent company named “C Hire Marine Service Company.” This gang contacted young job seekers across the country via calls and online platforms, enticing them with attractive salaries and overseas placements in cruise ships. They charged each candidate between ₹1 lakh to ₹1.2 lakh under the guise of registration, processing fees, and other formalities.
Police indicated that through this organized cyber fraud, the accused managed to deposit nearly ₹1 crore into various bank accounts. Investigations into the seized bank passbooks and accounts revealed complaints from several states, including Kerala, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh.
During the raid, police recovered three laptops, seven mobile phones, 26 calling data sheets, 21 calling registers, four fake seals, four joining letters, and bank-related documents such as passbooks and ATM cards.
Authorities have urged young job seekers to be cautious of anyone requesting advance fees for jobs and to report any suspicious calls or emails to the cyber cell immediately. They advised using only official and certified job portals and to refrain from sharing personal and banking information with anyone.
