New Delhi, February 13: BJP leader RP Singh has emphasized the need for the next government in Bangladesh to ensure that Hindus are not subjected to atrocities. In a recent conversation in New Delhi, Singh expressed hope that the upcoming parliamentary elections would be conducted in a democratic manner. He stated that whichever government comes to power must guarantee the safety and rights of Hindus.

Regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding former Army Chief General Naravane’s book, Singh noted that any Army general must obtain clearance from the Ministry of Defense before publishing a book under the Official Secrets Act. He pointed out that the Ministry has not approved Naravane’s book, and the publisher has clarified that they did not print it. Naravane has acknowledged this statement from the publisher. Singh condemned any unauthorized leaks that lead to publication, especially if cited by political figures like Rahul Gandhi, calling it a violation of the Constitution and the Official Secrets Act. He urged that strict action be taken against anyone found guilty in the police investigation.

On the opposition to the singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, Singh remarked that Arshad Madani is aligning his statements with the Congress narrative. Madani has claimed that he will challenge ‘Vande Mataram’ in court, arguing that it contradicts Islam. Singh questioned whether Islam is not recognized in Turkey, suggesting that such statements are part of a broader agenda to create an ecosystem against the Congress.

Madani has described the government’s mandate to make all lines of ‘Vande Mataram’ compulsory in government events, schools, and colleges as a biased and forceful decision. He argues that this move is not only an attack on the religious freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution but also a reprehensible attempt to undermine the rights of minorities.
