Enhanced Security Measures Ahead of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikaris Visit to Nabanna

Kolkata, May 10: West Bengal’s Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is set to visit Nabanna for the first time since taking office. The visit is scheduled for Monday, where he will hold an administrative meeting at 12 PM in the meeting hall of the state secretariat.

In anticipation of his visit, the police forces of Howrah and Kolkata are intensifying security measures around Nabanna. Government officials reported on Sunday that they are reviewing security not only for the meeting room but also for the outer perimeter of Nabanna.

Kolkata Police Commissioner Ajay Nand and Howrah City Police Commissioner Akhilesh Chaturvedi arrived at Nabanna early on Sunday, accompanied by several senior police officials. They first inspected the Nabanna complex, gathering detailed information about the security arrangements in place.

The police assessed the security for Chief Minister Suvendu and the meeting hall where the meeting will take place. Following this, Ajay and Akhilesh held an emergency meeting regarding security protocols in the meeting hall.

On Monday, Suvendu Adhikari will first meet with top state administration officials. In addition to the administrative review, he is scheduled to hold two more meetings that day. In the afternoon, he may convene a meeting with district magistrates.

Later in the afternoon, the Chief Minister will also meet with senior officials of the state police. According to officials, this meeting will include the Director General of Police, the Commissioner of Kolkata, and other high-ranking officers from various zones of the state.

Since taking the oath of office on Saturday, Suvendu Adhikari has already met with key state officials, including Chief Secretary Dushyant Nariyala, Home Secretary Sanghamitra Ghosh, and DGP Siddh Nath Gupta. This meeting took place in a tent set up by the Public Works Department in Esplanade, where he reviewed the overall situation of the state.

On Saturday, Suvendu Adhikari was sworn in alongside five other ministers, including Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Ashok Kirtania, Nishith Pramanik, and Khudiram Tudu.

According to BJP sources, the remaining members of Suvendu Adhikari’s cabinet are expected to take their oaths on Monday. It will be revealed that day which minister will oversee which department. Reports indicate that Governor R.N. Ravi will administer the oaths to the new cabinet members at Lok Bhavan.
