Engineer Rashids Father Passes Away, AIP Calls for His Release on Humanitarian Grounds

Srinagar, May 18: Haji Khazir Mohammad Sheikh, father of Engineer Rashid, the Member of Parliament from Baramulla, has passed away. This information was confirmed by Inam un Nabi, the chief spokesperson of the Awami Ittihad Party (AIP).

Inam un Nabi expressed deep sorrow over Haji Khazir Mohammad Sheikh’s demise, describing him as an experienced teacher, a good human being, and a highly respected figure. He noted that Sheikh dedicated his entire life to education, ethics, and social values. Throughout Engineer Rashid’s political and social journey, Haji Khazir stood as a strong pillar of support. He was widely admired for his simplicity, wisdom, and humility.

Inam un Nabi made an emotional appeal to the Government of India and relevant authorities to ensure the immediate release of Engineer Rashid, who is currently imprisoned. This would allow him to attend his father’s funeral and participate in the last rites. He emphasized that there is no greater sorrow for a son than being unable to bid farewell to his father. In such moments of personal tragedy and grief, human emotions should take precedence over political differences. A father has passed away, and his son is behind bars, making this an extremely painful moment for the entire family and all who knew him.

He added that Haji Sheikh’s passing has created a profound void not only in the grieving family but also among his well-wishers, students, and admirers throughout Jammu and Kashmir. The entire party leadership and workers stand in solidarity with Engineer Rashid and his family during this time of mourning. Inam un Nabi further prayed that Allah grants Haji Sheikh the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and provides patience and strength to the grieving family.
