Empowering over 1500 Rural &Tribal Students: Hindustan Zinc’s Shiksha Sambal Summer Camp concludes with Resounding Success

Hindustan Zinc’s month long Shiksha Sambal Summer camp concludes with more than 1500 students taking part in educational, skill development, sports and cultural activities. The camp was concluded with a cultural program that celebrated the talent of the students and provided them an opportunity to showcase their hidden talents. District Collector, Mr.Tarachand Meena was the Chief Guest of the closing ceremony, Mr.Krishnamohan Narayan, Deputy CEO of Hindustan Zinc and Mr.Munish Vasudev, Deputy CHRO, were the guests of honour. CEO Zila Parishad Ms.Saloni Khemka, along with others from senior management of Hindustan Zinc including Head COE – Mining, Mr.Praveen Sharma, Head CSR–Ms.Anupam Nidhi, SBU Director – Zinc Smelter Debari, Mr.Manas Tyagiwere also present. Vidya Bhavan – CEO, Mr.Anurag Priyadarshi along with other members of Vidya Bhavan’s executive committee were also part of the program.

On this occasion, Chief Guest District Collector, Mr. Tarachand Meena appreciated the efforts made by Hindustan Zinc towards theeducation of children under their Shiksha Sambal program. He addedthat our country presents an example of unity in diversity. We are united despite our different culture and diversity. Through Summer camps, the tendency of hesitation in children will be removed and their all-round development will take place.

During the program, students displayed and presented various information learned throughout the month and shared their experiences with the guests. The residential camps have provided a nurturing and educational environment for the students, enabling them to explore their potential and build a strong foundation for their future. The students got an opportunity to participate in various activities along with reading and writing of science, mathematics and English. The summer camps brought together a diverse group of students from various backgrounds and regions, fostering unity and cultural exchange.The month-long summer camp had 3 residential camps held in Udaipur & 12 non-residential ones at 6 location sites – Zawar, Debari, Dariba, Chanderiya, Agucha & Ajmer.

Hindustan Zinc’s commitment to education goes beyond these camps, as the company continues to invest in initiatives that enhance educational infrastructure and support educational excellence across all its operational units.Shiksha Sambal program initiated by Hindustan Zinc in 2008, aims to strengthen the learning environment in 66 government schools & thereby improve the learning ability of rural students by strengthening their knowledge at a conceptual level with special focus on subjects like Science, English & Mathematics. Every year with their implementation partner – Vidhya Bhawan, Udaipur, the program reaches to more than 8000 students across grade 6th to 12th. The program focuses on enhancing the learning environment in schools through activating labs, libraries & on academic front through innovative aspects such as Summer & Winter Camps, reading mela, etc. Throughout the year, intensive support is provided by deploying teachers & providing learning materials for the students to improve the learning outcomes of the students.
