Election Commission Clarifies Stance on Special Intensive Review, Says Upendra Kushwaha

Upendra Kushwaha welcomes the Election Commissions clarification on the Special Intensive Review, addressing public uncertainty and opposition claims.

Patna, September 27 (Daily Kiran) : Upendra Kushwaha, the president of the National Lok Morcha (RLM) and a Member of Parliament, expressed his approval of the Election Commission‘s recent clarification regarding the Special Intensive Review (SIR). Speaking to reporters in Patna, he noted that the Commission had officially addressed various concerns related to the SIR through a detailed press release. This clarification was issued jointly by all three election commissioners.

Kushwaha pointed out that there had been a prevailing atmosphere of uncertainty among the public regarding the SIR. The lack of a clear response from the Election Commission had led to numerous questions and speculations. He emphasized that the Commission’s detailed information has now resolved these queries and clarified the situation.

Previously, the opposition had raised questions about alleged disagreements among the election commissioners concerning the SIR. Some commissioners reportedly opposed the decision while others supported it, leading to further questions about the decision-making process. However, with the joint clarification from the Election Commission, it has become clear that the decisions were made unanimously.

Despite this clarification, Kushwaha criticized the opposition for attempting to keep the issue alive. He accused them of prioritizing political agendas over the concerns of the public and democracy. He urged the opposition, particularly Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, to reconsider their stance and apologize regarding the matter, while acknowledging that the opposition would likely continue to raise the issue as part of their political strategy.
