Mumbai, May 19: In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for fuel conservation amid the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde opted for a commercial Air India flight instead of his usual private jet for his scheduled trip to Delhi on Tuesday.
Shinde departed from Mumbai at 4 PM on an Air India flight. He is set to participate in a two-day special review meeting of the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0’ organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
The Deputy Chief Minister will actively engage in the meeting on Wednesday. Known for frequently using private jets for official travel, Shinde’s decision to fly commercially this time reflects his commitment to the Prime Minister’s appeal.
