Dry Spell Continues in Himachal, No Rain or Snow Expected Till Diwali

Shimla, October 14 (Daily Kiran): The dry weather conditions in Himachal Pradesh are expected to continue this week, with no rain or snowfall predicted until Diwali. Most parts of the state, including the capital Shimla, witnessed clear skies and bright sunshine on Tuesday, bringing mild warmth during the day and relief from the morning chill.

According to the Meteorological Centre, Shimla, weather across the state will remain mainly clear and dry till October 20, with both day and night temperatures likely to rise slightly over the next few days. The average minimum temperature in the state was 0.4°C above normal, while a 0.3°C increase was recorded in the last 24 hours.

Warmer Days, Mild Nights

Continuous sunshine has led to an increase in daytime temperatures, while the night chill has eased across the plains and mid-hill regions. However, higher altitude tribal areas continue to experience cold conditions.

The lowest temperature was recorded at Kukumseri (Lahaul-Spiti) at 1.3°C, followed by Tabo at 4.1°C and Kalpa (Kinnaur) at 6.4°C. Other key temperature readings included:

  • Sundernagar: 13.6°C

  • Una: 13.4°C

  • Bhuntar: 10.5°C

  • Palampur: 11°C

  • Solan: 13.4°C

  • Manali: 6.9°C

  • Kangra: 14.6°C

  • Mandi: 14.7°C

  • Bilaspur: 17.3°C

  • Hamirpur: 15°C

  • Kufri: 12.1°C

  • Narkanda: 9.1°C

  • Reckong Peo: 9.2°C

  • Siobagh: 9°C

No Western Disturbance in Sight

The weather office confirmed that no western disturbance is expected to affect Himachal Pradesh in the coming week. As a result, dry and pleasant weather is forecast to prevail across the state until Diwali.

Residents and tourists can expect warm, sunny days and pleasantly cool nights, providing ideal conditions for festive celebrations and travel across the hill state.
