
Bengaluru, May 12: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has issued an official notification for the recruitment of 150 apprentice trainee positions at its Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE). This recruitment covers both technical and non-technical roles across various departments.
Out of the total 180 positions announced by DRDO-GTRE, there are 75 openings for Graduate Engineering (BE/BTech), 20 for Diploma (Engineering), and 25 for ITI trades. Additionally, there are 30 positions available for Graduate General roles.
The 75 Graduate Engineering positions include 30 for Mechanical/Production/Industrial Production Engineering, 15 for Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, 10 for Electrical and Electronics/Electronics and Communication/Electronics and Instrumentation/Telecom Engineering, 15 for Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Technology Engineering, 4 for Metallurgy/Material Science, and 1 for Civil Engineering or equivalent.
For the 20 Diploma (Engineering) positions, there are 10 openings in Mechanical/Production/Equipment and Die Design, 7 in Electrical and Electronics/Electronics and Communication/Electronics and Instrumentation, and 3 in Computer Science Engineering/Computer Networking/Information Technology.
The 25 ITI trade positions consist of 3 for Machinist/CNC Machining Technician, 4 for Fitters, 3 for Turners, 3 for Electricians, 2 for Welders, 2 for Sheet Metal Workers, and 8 for Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA)/Data Entry Operator. The 30 Graduate General positions include 10 for BCom, 5 for BSc (Chemistry/Physics/Mathematics/Electronics/Computer, etc.), 5 for BA (Finance/Banking, etc.), 5 for BCA, and 5 for BBA.
Eligible candidates will be selected based on their educational qualifications, written tests, walk-in interviews, and document verification. Selected candidates will receive monthly stipends as per government standards.
Before attending the interview, candidates must register on the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal for ITI trades and on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal for all other positions. The minimum age for candidates is set at 18 years, calculated as of June 6.
The walk-in interview will take place on June 6 at the Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), DRDO, CV Raman Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka – 560093. Candidates are advised to report to the venue by 9 AM. They should bring a hard copy of the completed application form, original documents along with photocopies, passport-sized photographs, and other required materials.

They should then download the application form provided in the notification, fill in the required information, and remember to bring it on the interview day.
