Chennai, May 2: The voting for all 234 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu was completed on April 23, with the counting scheduled for May 4. In preparation, the state’s two major political rivals, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), have ramped up their efforts by activating high-level war rooms to monitor the entire counting process and potential scenarios.
According to senior officials, both parties have established a centralized control system to ensure seamless coordination among candidates, counting agents, and district-level officials at the 62 counting centers identified by the Election Commission of India.
These war rooms are expected to function as nerve centers, managing real-time updates and responding promptly to any issues that may arise during the counting process.
AIADMK sources revealed that a comprehensive communication network has been set up. Contact details for key officials, including returning officers, district collectors, and police superintendents, have been disseminated.
A senior party official stated, “In case of any issues at the counting centers, our candidates and agents can immediately inform the war room and receive swift assistance.”
The DMK has adopted a similar strategy, incorporating legal aspects into their preparations. Internal sources indicated that legal experts and senior coordinators have been deployed to closely monitor proceedings and intervene in cases of disputes, discrepancies, or procedural concerns.
