If you wish to experience nature, trekking, and glimpses of British missionaries all at once, Lunglei in Mizoram is the perfect destination. This natural gem offers a serene environment filled with breathtaking views.

Lunglei, whose name translates to “bridge of rocks,” is a unique town in Mizoram. The crystal-clear rivers here allow you to see the pebbles at the bottom. Located 169 kilometers from Aizawl, Lunglei sits at an elevation of 1,222 meters. The stunning confluence of mountains, rivers, and nature attracts many tourists during the summer months.

A must-visit is the Khawnglung Wildlife Sanctuary, a favorite spot for nature and wildlife enthusiasts. The best time to visit is from March to October.

About 100 kilometers from Lunglei is Lungpui Tlang, known as the rock of Funanuma. This site features the oldest and largest rock in Lungpui. Reaching it requires challenging trekking, but the view from the top is breathtaking. Local legends say that fairies used to come here for hunting, and it was discovered by a man named Funanuma, which is how it got its name.
