Dilip Ghosh Criticizes Congress Leaders Over Democratic Rights and Protests

West Bengal minister Dilip Ghosh responds to Congress leaders comments, asserting the BJPs role in granting media rights.

Newtown, October 12 (Daily Kiran) : West Bengal minister Dilip Ghosh has taken aim at Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, in response to their recent comments regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Ghosh stated that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s claims about the government aiming to undermine democracy are unfounded. He emphasized that the right to express opinions in the media is something the BJP has afforded them.

Ghosh reminded Congress leaders of their own history, particularly during the Emergency, which marked a significant period of political turmoil in India. “They should not forget what happened during their time in power,” he asserted.

Regarding Congress’s plans for protests across the country, Ghosh remarked, “Rahul Gandhi has marched extensively, yet nothing has changed in the nation. Everyone has the right to protest.” He also expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of the proposed protests by the opposition coalition in Delhi, suggesting they would not engage constructively with the President or participate in discussions.

The minister criticized the opposition for planning to protest even in the Supreme Court, labeling it a tactic of intimidation. “No one is above the law in this country,” he stated firmly.

In response to allegations made by YouTuber Dhruv Rathee about being restricted from leaving his home, Ghosh explained that previous protests had led to damage to public property and disruption of daily life. As a result, the government is taking precautions and enforcing stricter measures.

Ghosh concluded by claiming that there has been a persistent attempt to create instability in India, drawing parallels with the political situations in Nepal and Sri Lanka. He assured that the government is prepared to take necessary legal actions to maintain the democratic framework of the country, insisting that no one would be allowed to incite unrest.
