New Delhi, May 20: In an exciting IPL 2026 match held at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) triumphed over the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by seven wickets. The victory was largely attributed to Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s explosive innings of 93 runs. Wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel also made a notable contribution, scoring an unbeaten 53 runs off 38 balls, although his performance was overshadowed by Vaibhav’s stellar play.
Ambati Rayudu praised Jurel’s innings during ESPN Cricinfo’s program “Timeout.” He stated, “I believe there are at least four or five levels he can improve in his batting. He is a player with immense potential. His technique is quite good. He just needs to loosen his bat swing a bit. I am confident that he will work with his coach during the off-season or whenever he gets the time, and he will be much better.”
Rayudu further commented, “Jurel’s temperament is top-class. He is quite comfortable against pace and plays spin well. He reads length effectively and runs well between the wickets. I think he is a complete package that just needs to be unlocked and trained properly.”
Dhruv Jurel has emerged as the second most successful batsman for the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026, following Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He has established himself as a strong link in the RR middle order, consistently playing the anchor role. Jurel has scored 420 runs in 13 innings across 13 matches, including five half-centuries. This season, he has hit 19 sixes and 38 fours.
