Dehradun, March 10: The sacred land of Uttarakhand is renowned for its ancient temples and their unique stories of miracles. One such temple is Shri Balaji Dham, located in Jhajra, Dehradun district. This temple is modeled after the famous Balaji Dham in Rajasthan.
Shri Balaji Dham is known for dispelling negativity in life. Devotees travel from far and wide to seek liberation from negative forces, crises, or bad energy. Here, they submit their prayers to fulfill their wishes.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted the temple’s significance. On Tuesday, he shared a special video of the temple on his official social media platform, X. He emphasized the temple’s importance, stating, “Shri Balaji Dham in Jhajra, Dehradun, is a major center of faith and devotion. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, a large number of devotees visit to seek blessings from Lord Hanuman for the fulfillment of their wishes. Make sure to visit this sacred place when you come to Dehradun.”
A unique aspect of the temple is that devotees offer laddus to Balaji Maharaj and batasha (a sweet made from urad dal) to Bhairav Baba. Offerings of ghee, coconut, and sugar are made for Pretraj Ji.
On Tuesdays and Saturdays, the temple sees a massive influx of devotees. Thousands arrive on these days to seek blessings from Hanuman Ji. It is believed that prayers and requests made on these days yield results. Devotees submit their requests once and offer food seven times.
The temple was established in 1957 by Baba Ramkrishna Das Barfani. The management of Balaji Dham is overseen by Baba Bal Ramdas Hathyogi Maharaj. The temple primarily worships the child form of Balaji, Bhairav Baba, Bholenath, Radha Krishna, and Mother Bhagwati Durga. A large tree on the premises sees thousands of devotees offering chola (a ceremonial garment) to Balaji.
