Manali, February 18: The weather in the mountainous regions has taken a turn once again, drawing tourists to its beauty.
A large crowd of devotees has gathered at the Anjani Mahadev Temple near Manali, where a natural ice Shivling has formed at an altitude of 11,000 feet, standing 15 to 20 feet tall. Despite temperatures plunging below zero, this ‘Mini Amarnath’ pilgrimage site continues to attract visitors.
Amidst the biting cold and snowfall, devotees are arriving at the Anjani Mahadev Temple to witness the self-formed ice Shivling, believing it to be a miracle from Mahadev. The combination of weather and faith has captured the hearts of tourists. The temple priest stated, “This site holds great religious significance as Saint Shiro Mani Baba Prakash Puri visited here with his followers. Every year, the ice Shivling forms naturally, and it is said that Mother Anjani prayed for a child, and the Lord manifested to grant her that blessing.”
He further explained that the Shivling remains from December 15 until February, and each year, the number of devotees coming to witness this natural wonder continues to grow.
A tourist who came to see the ice Shivling shared, “I have visited Baba Barfani twice before, and now, after coming here, I feel that the third time Baba has given me the opportunity to witness him. The path to reach here is a bit challenging, but the power of devotion cannot be stopped. This is why, despite the slippery conditions and cold, devotees keep coming, and my heart is filled with joy.”
A group of women who visited the site mentioned that reaching here took a lot of effort, but all fatigue vanished after witnessing Baba Barfani. “There is nothing more soothing than the natural scenery and the blessings of Baba. This truly feels like paradise, and everyone should come here at least once for darshan.”
