Lucknow, February 8: Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has taken a jab at Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, suggesting that Yadav has become agitated since the Rashtriya Janata Dal’s significant defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections.
During a media interaction in Lucknow, Deputy CM Maurya expressed confidence that the Samajwadi Party would face a major setback in the upcoming 2027 Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. He accused Yadav of spreading confusion regarding the Special Investigation Report (SIR).
Maurya stated that whenever mistakes occur, BJP workers diligently fill out and submit forms from Form 6 to Form 8. He emphasized that neither Samajwadi Party nor Congress members have been obstructed in their efforts. Instead, he claimed they are reluctant to work and prefer to make accusations. “They do not engage in grassroots politics; they operate on social media,” he remarked.
He further asserted that Yadav has been unsettled since the RJD’s electoral loss in Bihar, which he believes has solidified the Samajwadi Party’s impending defeat in Uttar Pradesh. Maurya criticized Yadav for making contradictory statements regarding the SIR and claimed that the Samajwadi Party lacks genuine workers, relying instead on “goons and mafia.”
In a piece of advice to Yadav, Maurya suggested that if he lacks workers, he should cultivate them, as public trust in the Samajwadi Party is waning. “The condition of the Samajwadi Party is dire,” he concluded.
Regarding the upcoming state budget, Deputy CM Maurya mentioned that a meeting of the BJP alliance legislative party has taken place. The budget session is approaching, with the Governor’s address scheduled to commence the session. The budget will be presented on February 11 and is expected to be a positive one, aligned with the vision of a developed India and a developed Uttar Pradesh.
