Demands for Justice Rise After Bihar NEET Students Tragic Death

New Delhi, February 8: The suspicious death of a NEET student from Bihar has sparked a significant outcry for accountability and justice. On Sunday, students and social activists organized a large protest at Jantar Mantar in the capital, Delhi.

This incident has not only shaken the student community but has also raised serious questions about student safety, administrative negligence, and institutional responsibility.

Protesters, holding placards and chanting slogans, demanded a swift, fair, and transparent investigation into the case. They called for strict action against the perpetrators, emphasizing that such incidents reveal deep flaws within the education system.

Demonstrators expressed concerns that increasing pressure, lack of mental support, and administrative negligence leave students preparing for competitive exams feeling unsafe.

The protest saw participation from civil society members, various student organizations, and representatives from political parties. Participants noted that incidents involving students preparing for NEET, IIT, and other competitive exams are becoming alarmingly frequent, fueling public outrage. They warned that if concrete steps are not taken promptly, the situation could worsen.

In an interview, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Mahabal Mishra urged the government to take decisive action in this matter. He stated that the government must quickly identify the culprits and ensure they face severe punishment, preventing any student from facing such injustice in the future.

Mishra emphasized that delays in justice erode public trust and embolden criminals.

One protester accused the authorities of attempting to suppress the tragic incident of rape and murder in Patna, describing it as not only heartbreaking but also shameful. The victim’s parents are forced to seek justice while police and administration appear to undermine the seriousness of the case.

The protester harshly criticized the NDA government for its arrogance, claiming that accountability has become nonexistent. Although a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed for the case, no substantial conclusions have emerged thus far. They demanded a prompt resolution to ensure justice for the victim.

Teacher Dhruv Kumar Rai also expressed deep concern over the matter. He stated that any crime against a woman is a direct assault on her dignity, and what has occurred in this case is a source of shame for society as a whole. His and other educators’ sole demand is that the guilty receive punishment that serves as a strong deterrent against such heinous crimes in the future.
