Prayagraj, May 10: Ahead of the renowned Govardhan ‘Adhik Maas’ fair, Pandit Dinesh Falhari Maharaj, president of the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Sangharsh Nyas, has raised several demands regarding the event’s arrangements. In a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, he urged that members of the Muslim community be prohibited from setting up shops or engaging in any commercial activities during the fair. This demand has garnered support from saints in Prayagraj and Ayodhya.
Narayanacharya Jagatguru Shandilya Maharaj stated in an interview, “There is no place for Muslims in the Adhik Maas fair. We do not visit Muslim fairs or pilgrimage sites, so they should not come here either. We want to conduct the event in purity. Dinesh Falhari’s demand is absolutely correct and should be implemented. Muslims should be barred from the fair.”
Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya expressed, “It is unfortunate that despite the partition of India based on religion, where Hindus across the border in Pakistan and Bangladesh have been denied citizenship and face continuous injustice and killings, India has granted equal rights to Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians post-independence. Madrasas are inciting hatred against Hindus, yet the government continues to provide funding.”
He further added, “Merely writing a letter will not suffice to restrict Muslims from the fair. There should be protests involving residents of Mathura and saints, with large numbers taking to the streets. Only then will the government listen. A single letter will not change anything. The country’s leaders are aware, but it is unfortunate that Hindus were divided yesterday and remain divided today.”
Mahant Sitaram Das of Saket Bhavan Temple in Ayodhya supported Pandit Dinesh Falhari’s letter to CM Yogi Adityanath, demanding a ban on non-Sanatani individuals and their shops during the fair in Mathura and Govardhan. “Radical and jihadist shops should be banned in all religious areas, as they pose a danger to Sanatan Dharma,” he stated.
