Delivery Boy Killed in Subhash Nagar Car Accident

New Delhi, February 21: A tragic incident occurred in the Subhash Nagar area of New Delhi when a speeding car struck a delivery boy, leading to his death. The police have detained the driver responsible for the accident, and an investigation is underway.

According to a witness, the incident took place around 2:30 AM. A young man working at a nearby petrol station reported hearing a loud noise and rushed to the scene. He stated that the individuals in the car appeared to be intoxicated and were driving at approximately 150 km/h. The witness also noted that one of the suspects attempted to flee but was apprehended by locals.

The delivery boy’s colleague shared, “A black car hit him at night, resulting in his death. He worked alongside me, and we often worked together during the night.” He alleged that the occupants of the car were heavily drunk and driving recklessly.

The Delhi police confirmed that the accident occurred near the Subhash Nagar metro red light. They received a PCR call about the incident around 3:30 AM. A team arrived at the scene and transported the injured individual to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.

The deceased has been identified as Hem Shankar, a resident of the Raghuveer Nagar area in Delhi.

Police identified the driver as Mohit Kumar from Najafgarh. He has been taken into custody, and the car involved in the accident has been seized. The accused is reportedly a contractor with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. An FIR has been filed, and legal proceedings are ongoing.
