New Delhi, December 7: Shubman Gill missed the ODI series against South Africa due to injury but has made a comeback for the T20 series. Gill is the vice-captain of India’s T20 squad. Former South African captain Dale Steyn expressed enthusiasm over Gill’s return, saying Indian fans are very excited to see him back.
In a video posted on Star Sports’ ‘X’ account, Steyn said, “Shubman Gill is back. Every fan in India is thrilled to have him return. Besides Gill, India has also gained strength with the comeback of all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Hardik has been out since September due to an injury sustained during the Asia Cup.”
Steyn also welcomed the return of David Miller to the South African team. Miller had missed the T20 series against Pakistan due to a hamstring strain.
“He is back for South Africa. Big hitter David Miller clears the boundary regularly. I’m excited to see him return,” Steyn added.
He further shared, “I last saw South Africa play against India in a T20 final. I am looking forward to the T20 series between these two countries once again.”
