New Delhi, May 16: The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, T.S. Sandhu, has directed officials to expedite reforms aimed at enhancing the ‘Ease of Living’ and transitioning towards a ‘no permission required unless prohibited’ framework. The goal is to eliminate all regulatory barriers by June 30.
The LG emphasized the need to reduce the regulatory burden on citizens in line with the Prime Minister’s vision, making their lives easier. He stated that every procedural improvement should translate into greater efficiency, transparency, and opportunities for the people of Delhi.
Sandhu also indicated that the Delhi government will swiftly advance the ‘Ease of Doing Business Bill, 2026’ to streamline approval processes and simplify compliance with regulations.
In a post on ‘X’, he mentioned that officials have been instructed to ensure the implementation of all remaining priority areas identified by the Government of India for ‘Ease of Doing Business’ reforms by June 30, 2026, without any negligence.
He chaired a meeting with senior officials from Delhi to review the progress of ongoing deregulation efforts aimed at strengthening the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and, consequently, the ‘Ease of Living’ in the capital. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s vision.
Sandhu reiterated that inspired by the Prime Minister’s vision, which aims to lessen the regulatory burden on citizens and simplify their lives, every procedural reform should yield increased efficiency, transparency, and opportunities for the people of Delhi.
He affirmed the commitment to a governance model that merges efficiency and excellence for the benefit of every resident, continuously working towards building a developed Delhi.
