Delhis Barapullah Phase-III Corridor Set for Inauguration by Amit Shah
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the inauguration of the Barapullah Phase-III Corridor by Amit Shah on September 29, enhancing Delhis connectivity.

New Delhi, September 26 (Daily Kiran) : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on September 26 that the Barapullah Elevated Road Phase-III Corridor is ready for public use. The inauguration is scheduled for September 29, with Union Minister Amit Shah officiating the event.
After inspecting the entire corridor, Gupta shared her enthusiasm on social media, stating, “The Barapullah Elevated Road Phase-III is now ready to serve the people of Delhi. I conducted a thorough inspection today ahead of its inauguration by Amit Shah.”
She emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the infrastructure development in Delhi is gaining new momentum. Gupta noted that such significant projects are redefining connectivity and growth in the capital.
The highly anticipated corridor will provide signal-free connectivity from Mayur Vihar Phase-I to AIIMS, facilitating smoother travel between eastern and southern Delhi and alleviating traffic congestion for residents.
Spanning 3.5 kilometers, this four-lane elevated corridor will connect Mayur Vihar Phase-I and Sarai Kale Khan, linking to the existing Barapullah network towards central and southern Delhi, including AIIMS.
Constructed at an estimated revised cost of approximately ₹1,635 crores, the corridor is expected to significantly reduce travel time for commuters heading from eastern Delhi and Noida to AIIMS and other southern parts of the city. What typically takes 35-40 minutes during peak hours is anticipated to be completed in about 15 minutes on this signal-free route.
Additionally, the corridor will feature dedicated infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists, including a bike track crossing the Yamuna floodplain. This is expected to ease traffic pressure at key points such as Sarai Kale Khan, the Ring Road, the DND Flyover, and NH-24.
The Barapullah Phase-III project received approval in 2014, with construction commencing in 2015. Although initially slated for completion in 2017, several delays pushed its opening to this year.
