New Delhi, February 21: The Anti-Narcotics Squad of the East District of Delhi Police has successfully dismantled a significant inter-state drug syndicate as part of its zero-tolerance policy against drugs. Three suspects have been arrested, including a drug peddler active in Delhi and two primary sources based in Uttar Pradesh (Badaun).
A total of 326.85 grams of commercial quantity heroin (smack) was seized from the arrested individuals, with an estimated market value of around 6 million rupees. This operation is considered a crucial step in disrupting the drug supply chain in the Delhi-NCR region.
On the midnight of February 12, 2026, the Anti-Narcotics Squad received a tip-off that a person named Amin Khan was en route to supply smack near the Noida Link Road at the Pandav Nagar area. Acting on this information, the team set a trap and apprehended Amin Khan (24 years old, resident of Gangola village, Dataganj, Badaun, Uttar Pradesh). A search revealed 291 grams of smack in his possession. An FIR numbered 41/26 was registered at the Pandav Nagar police station under sections 21/61/85 of the NDPS Act.
During the investigation, Amin Khan confessed that he obtained smack from his source, Rashid (38 years old, Badaun), and sold it in small quantities in Delhi-NCR. To dismantle the entire syndicate, the team took Amin into police custody and arrested Rashid on the night of February 15, 2026, in Badaun. Rashid further disclosed that he sourced smack from Balbir (34 years old, Noni village, Badaun). Based on thorough technical and manual inputs, Balbir was also arrested, and 35.85 grams of smack was recovered from him.
In questioning, Amin Khan revealed that he had been arrested in a 2023 case involving smack supply in Meerut. After being released from jail, he had been living on rent in Gandhi Nagar, Shahdara for the past five months. He sold smack pouches in areas like Khoda Chowk and Shashi Garden. All three suspects were involved in supplying smack from Badaun to Delhi-NCR, primarily aiming for quick profits by exploiting drug vulnerabilities in urban areas. The accused have been identified as Amin Khan (24 years old, illiterate, unmarried), Rashid (38 years old, 12th grade, married), and Balbir (34 years old).
Delhi Police stated that they are continuously targeting drug peddlers, carriers, and sources to create a drug-free society. This success was achieved under the leadership of Inspector Arun Kumar and the guidance of Additional DCP Sanjay Singh. The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to trace further sources and networks.
