Delhi Police Arrest Two Gang Members in Late-Night Encounter

New Delhi, October 5 (Daily Kiran) : A late-night encounter in Osmanpur, located in Northeast Delhi, led to the arrest of two individuals connected to the Lawrence Bishnoi and Rasheed Keval gangs. The operation was conducted by the Special Staff team of the Northeast Delhi district.

According to police reports, the encounter occurred after the team received intelligence about the suspects. Officers set up a trap in the area and signaled the duo to stop as they approached. However, the suspects attempted to flee and opened fire at the police.

In response, law enforcement returned fire, injuring both suspects in the legs. They were subsequently taken into custody and transported to a hospital for treatment.

The suspects have been identified as Waseem and Kaif. Police revealed that they had previously demanded extortion from a businessman in the Bhajanpura area on October 2 and had engaged in air firing during the incident. Following this, a case was registered against them.

In a related development, the Delhi Crime Branch arrested a member of the “Takkar Gang” on Friday. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Ghulam Khwaja, also known as Ale, was already wanted for attempted murder. During interrogation, Khwaja disclosed his connections to the gang and detailed his criminal activities in Dwarka, Dabri, Uttam Nagar, and surrounding areas of Haryana.
