Delhi Police Arrest Three Wanted Suspects in Jahangirpuri Murder Case

New Delhi, April 25: Delhi Police have apprehended three wanted suspects in connection with a murder case registered at the Jahangirpuri police station. Officials reported that the suspects had been frequently changing their hiding locations between Delhi and Loni in Uttar Pradesh. A police team successfully arrested all three suspects after gathering intelligence.

The suspects have been identified as Sheikh Ishaq, Dilshad, and Irfan, all residents of the H-2 block in Jahangirpuri. They had been on the run since the incident.

On April 5, a 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in the H-2 block of Jahangirpuri. During the investigation, the victim’s brother revealed that the suspects confronted his brother due to an old rivalry and attacked him multiple times with a knife. Doctors declared him dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Following a complaint from the victim’s family, Delhi Police formed a team to investigate the case and apprehend the suspects. Meanwhile, the police received information about the activities of Sheikh Ishaq, Dilshad, and Irfan. Based on human intelligence and technical analysis, the team successfully located and arrested the suspects near the Sabhapur underpass in Ghaziabad’s Loni.

During police interrogation, the suspects confessed to their crime. They explained that their animosity with the victim and his brother, Hakim Ali, stemmed from a previous altercation involving derogatory remarks made by the victim towards one of the suspects’ wives. On April 5, they conspired to kill the boy. Dilshad arranged for the knife, which they shared among themselves. They then proceeded to Ramleela Maidan, where the victim was sitting near a rickshaw parking area. Dilshad grabbed him, knocked him down, and repeatedly stabbed him.

Officials revealed that Sheikh Ishaq had studied until the 10th grade and had moved from West Bengal to reside in Jahangirpuri. He worked at an e-rickshaw parking facility, assisted by his uneducated sons, Dilshad and Irfan. Notably, Dilshad was previously involved in the Jahangirpuri riots of 2022.

Police disclosed that Sheikh Ishaq, along with his sons and relatives, committed this crime to exact revenge on the victim and establish dominance in the Jahangirpuri area.
