
New Delhi, May 14: The Delhi Police have apprehended three suspects in two separate vehicle theft cases. The authorities recovered five stolen two-wheelers from the accused. Currently, the police are proceeding with further investigations into these incidents.
The first case occurred in the Rajouri Garden area, where a notorious vehicle thief was arrested. The suspect had been continuously involved in scooter thefts in the Rajouri Garden locality. Acting on a tip-off and conducting a thorough investigation, the police managed to apprehend him after reviewing approximately 50-60 CCTV footages.
The arrested individual has been identified as Vishal Rohit. At the time of his arrest, one stolen vehicle was recovered from him. During ongoing interrogations, he confessed to his involvement in several other vehicle thefts within the Rajouri Garden jurisdiction. Following his lead, two additional stolen scooters were recovered.
The suspect has a prior record of involvement in theft, robbery, snatching, and Arms Act-related cases. During questioning, he revealed that his poor financial condition and negative influences led him to engage in criminal activities. Further inquiries are ongoing.
The second case took place in the Mohan Garden area of Dwarka. A police team arrested two vehicle thieves while recovering stolen goods. On April 29, an FIR was filed at the Mohan Garden police station, where the complainant reported that an unknown individual had stolen his air conditioner. To apprehend the thief, a dedicated team was formed. They examined over 40 CCTV cameras in the Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar, and Ranholi police station areas.
As a result of these efforts, based on CCTV analysis and information from informants, the police conducted raids at various locations. Ultimately, two suspects were arrested. They have been identified as Mohammad Mahfooz and Sonu Singh Rawat. Stolen items, including a window AC, a mobile phone, and a stolen scooter, were recovered from their possession.
