Delhi Government Restructures Sanitation Workers Commission for Better Administration

New Delhi, July 29: The Delhi government has taken a significant step towards enhancing public welfare and administrative efficiency by restructuring the Sanitation Workers Commission under the direction of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

The reorganization aims to appoint experienced and qualified individuals to make the commission’s operations more effective, accountable, and citizen-centric. Chief Minister Gupta emphasized that the government’s goal is to ensure the interests of all societal segments are adequately protected and to strengthen the institutional framework related to the welfare of sanitation workers.

As part of this restructuring, Sunita Kangra has been appointed as the chairperson of the Sanitation Workers Commission. Manoj Kumar and Sushant Sagar have also been appointed as part-time members. The Chief Minister noted that the commission plays a crucial role in safeguarding the rights of sanitation workers and effectively addressing their related issues.

Gupta expressed confidence that these appointments will lead to a more active, effective, and citizen-focused commission, thereby accelerating efforts to protect the interests of sanitation workers and enhance their welfare. This initiative is expected to strengthen administrative processes and public service delivery in Delhi.

Additionally, Gupta shared on the social media platform X that she participated in a review meeting chaired by Lieutenant Governor Tarunjeet Singh Sandhu, focusing on reducing unnecessary regulations and simplifying procedures. All departments have been instructed to expedite reform efforts in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and ‘Ease of Living,’ promoting investment, creating new job opportunities, and providing better and simpler services to Delhi residents.

She reiterated that the government is continuously working to make every system more straightforward, transparent, and beneficial for the public to build a developed Delhi.
