New Delhi, April 28: In a dramatic turn of events during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, the Delhi Capitals faced a crushing defeat against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), managing to score only 75 runs. The match, which was the 39th of the season, took place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday.

After losing the toss, Delhi Capitals struggled to find their footing, finishing their innings in just 16.3 overs. The team suffered an early setback when Sahil Parakh was dismissed on the second ball of the match without scoring.

The wickets continued to tumble, with the home team losing six wickets for just 8 runs. David Miller and Abhishek Porel attempted to stabilize the innings, forming a partnership of 35 runs for the seventh wicket off 31 balls. However, a dust storm interrupted the match for a brief period, although all players remained on the field.

Once play resumed, Miller was dismissed on the last ball of the ninth over, scoring 19 runs off 18 balls with three boundaries. Abhishek then took charge, scoring 30 runs off 33 balls, while Kyle Jamieson contributed 12 runs.

For RCB, Josh Hazlewood was the standout bowler, claiming 4 wickets for just 12 runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also made a significant impact, taking 3 wickets. Rasikh Salam Dar, Suyaash Sharma, and Krunal Pandya each took one wicket.

Under the captaincy of Axar Patel, the Delhi Capitals lineup included Sahil Parakh, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Nitish Rana, Sameer Rizvi, Tristan Stubbs, David Miller, Dushmantha Chameera, Kyle Jamieson, Kuldeep Yadav, and T. Natarajan.

On the other hand, RCB, captained by Rajat Patidar, featured prominent players like Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Jitesh Sharma (wicketkeeper), Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Suyaash Sharma, and Rasikh Salam Dar.
